Sarnia is a beautiful city in Ontario, located on the shores of Lake Huron. It is also the largest city that shares its coast with lake Huron. With sandy beaches and lush green parks, this place has something exciting to do for everyone. You can not only visit this place for fun activities and adventures but also for its rich and diverse history. It is also famous for its museums, theaters, and art galleries which make this place an overall exciting experience.

Canatara Park

This Park is the best place to start your trip to Sarnia. This wonderful multifunctional park offers scenic views of the city and has plenty of recreational activities for everyone. Located on the shores of Lake Huron, this place is also famous for its urban beach. You can spend a nice cozy day here and plan your day trip to this beach park. There are a lot of fun activities for you to try. You can go for walks and picnics in the playgrounds and enjoy the sun. There are plenty of other water-based activities too that you can enjoy here.

Timings: Open all days a week. 8 am to 8 pm.

Stones ‘N Bones Museum

This unique and amazing museum displays history in an artistic setting. From fossils to rare gems, this wonderful gallery is home to over 6000 objects of natural history. We highly suggest that you visit this place with your family and explore some rare history of pre-historic age. Along with their permanent displays, they also keep adding new artifacts from time to time.

Their most famous attraction include the gigantic structure of dinosaurs. It is a great place for all nature enthusiasts who are interested in history and art. They also organize several tours and educational programs which are great if you are willing to spend a couple of hours here. Do not forget to take back some souvenirs from their gift shop.

Imperial Theatre 

To spend a nice and relaxing time in Sarnia, we would suggest that you book a live show at the Imperial Theatre. This will be the best way to enjoy your evening after a day-long tour of the city. They offer movie screenings and various other live shows. You can book your tickets online and plan your trip well in advance. 

If you are not in the mood for a movie, then don’t worry because they also offer a variety of different entertainment options such as comedy and music nights as well. Find something that suits your mood and enjoy yourselves at this wonderfully built historic theater.

Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area

Located within the city of Sarnia, this beautiful natural park is one of the best places to explore the wildlife of the city. It spans over an area of 100 acres and contains some stunning wetlands and forests. It is a perfect spot for picnicking, hiking, and appreciating wildlife.

The most attractive feature of this conservation area is that it is home to over 700 species of plants and a variety of reptiles and animals. With over 220 species of migratory birds, this is an even perfect spot for birdwatchers. Make sure to visit this place for a relaxing and fun time. 

Timings: Monday to Sunday. 10:30 am to 6:30 pm.

Things to do: it is a great place for picnics and outdoor trips. You can also enjoy leisure walks and hiking in the region. This Conservation Area is a great sightseeing place as well.

Refined Fool Brewing Company

This brewery located in Downtown Sarnia is a perfect spot for a small outing. Ontario is famous for its handcrafted special beers and it is a must to try a new brewery every time you visit any city. Sarnia’s most famous place is the Refined Fool Brewing Company which offers a great way to explore the local lifestyle. 

They have special taprooms and bottle shops where you can try a variety of new drinks. Apart from this they also have a unique concert venue where they host a number of live events and performances. We highly suggest that you have a look around this place and explore the nightlife. 

They also have a Cafe ‘March Here’ which serves delicious food specially tailored for the brewery. 

Timings: Monday to Saturday- 11 am to 11 pm. Sunday- 11 am to 9 pm.

Victoria Buffet

Victoria Buffet is a relaxing venue on London Road which you should definitely include on your list. This famous restaurant serves mouth-watering dishes and amazing drinks which you cannot afford to miss. Their menu is most specifically known for great Asian and seafood which is the best in town.

Things to do: Plan a day trip to Victoria Buffet and grab a meal while you are here. You can also take a look around the nearby places and visit a nice park after that.

Lake Huron

This famous Lake of Sarnia is a great place to plan a small picnic or other recreational activities. Lake Huron has excellent shorelines which offer breathtaking views. You can visit this place for sightseeing, boating, and swimming. The beach here is super relaxing where you can also set up your picnic tables and enjoy till the sun goes down. 

Many tourists also visit this place for leisure walks around the lake to enjoy the natural beauty.

Covered in several kilometers of paved trails, it is also one of the most popular places in Sarnia for hiking and leisure walks. The Garden is also well maintained with beautiful picnic spots and benches where you can spend a peaceful time away from the hustle of the city.

Waterfront Park at Point Edward

Waterfront Park in Sarnia is another beautiful park that you can visit on your trip. This is a perfect place to enjoy the best of Sarnia. The waterfront park is located on the shore of Lake Huron which makes it a very peaceful and relaxing place. The Germain Park and Gardens are considered Sarnia’s hidden treasures. With beautiful lush green gardens and paved paths for walks and picnics, this is a perfect place to spend a relaxing getaway on your trip. Spread over an area of 60 acres, this park has something fun for everyone. They have a special activity center for adults known as the Strangway Community Centre which has a great collection of sporting activities like tennis courts, lawns, soccer pool, and outdoor pool. It is a great way to take a break between your sightseeing tours.

Timings: Open all days. 8 am to 11 pm.

Judith and Norman Alix Art Gallery 

For all the art lovers, this is a great place to spend a few hours when you are visiting Sarnia. The Judith and Norman Alix Art Gallery is a public art gallery in downtown Sarnia. It is a wonderfully built and preserved art gallery that offers unique exhibitions, tours, and programs for all ages. JNAAG is composed of over 1200 Canadian works that are both of local and national Importance. This art gallery primarily deals in contemporary and modern art but they also have a huge display of historical artworks as well.

Sarnia Bay Marina is a unique one of its kind place in the city that offers various fun activities to its guests. It offers over 30 acres of beautiful landscape with spectacular blue waters and endless exciting boating destinations on the Great Lakes.

Their most famous attraction is the boating facilities. We highly recommend that you visit this wonderful place for sightseeing and boating and enjoy a stress-free ride with your boater.

The place has the same charm throughout the year and they also host special events regularly. From Canada Day to Christmas Eve, it is a really fun place to visit if you are planning your vacation in the festive season.
