My visit to the Maison de l’Emancipation. It’s a great place to learn all about local culture. When I arrived, I saw a large map of the center. For the main dish, I tried a traditional Trujillo dish, arroz con pato, which is rice and duck. It was delicious and juicy! I tried sopa seca, which is chicken or beef noodle soup. And it’s very sweet. For dessert, I had chancaca, which is a sweet syrup made from sugar cane. Very well! I also tried alfajores, which are cookies filled with dulce de leche. And they are very tasty. In addition to food, the event also includes live music and dancing. It’s fun to try all the different dishes and enjoy the fun. I started walking in the Plaza de Armas, which is the center of the city. There are lots of people watching and lots of fun things to do. You can also see the beautiful Trujillo Cathedral, located in the square. From the Plaza de Armas, I walked to Jirón Pizarro, one of the main shopping streets in the city. There are a variety of interesting shops including souvenir shops, clothing stores and food courts. You can enjoy local food at one of the grocery stores. It’s delicious!
After descending Jirón Pizarro, I turned towards Jirón Independencia. This street is known for its old colonial buildings. There are many beautiful buildings to see, including the Casa Urquiaga and the Casa de la Emancipación. I went down Jirón Independencia until I reached Huaca Arco Iris, which is a monument. Here, you can learn about the Moche culture and see some of their ancient ruins. After exploring the Huaca Arco Iris, I returned to the Plaza de Armas. I was tired from all my walking, but I had a great time exploring La Libertad Trujillo. It is a beautiful city that has a lot to offer visitors.
