Newmarket is a small town located in the southern region of Ontario which was formed way back in 1853 by some farming communities. This little town is surrounded by beautiful cities all around its perimeter, which makes it a perfect getaway if you are looking to travel to more than one city. The famous cities around this place are Aurora in the south, Bradford in the northwest, and Uxbridge in the east.

Fairy lake park

Elman W. Campbell Museum

If you are wondering that natural beauty is all there is to see in Newmarket, then you’re absolutely wrong. We bring you our second pick in the city of Newmarket, which is the Elman W. Campbell Museum. It is supposed to be the first museum in Newmarket and hence has a wide variety of exhibitions from their first settlements. It is a great place to visit and delve into the history of the town while also having fun. You’ll be surprised to know that there are models of railroads and various archives that will definitely leave you awestruck. 

The museum also provides various groups and community programs which is a very nice way to meet and gel with the local residents. Newmarket’s Riverwalk Commons

Another major tourist attraction in the city of Newmarket is the infamous Riverwalk Commons. If you are wondering that this town is all about history then you’re wrong. There is so much cool stuff to do in Newmarket that it will blow your mind. The Newmarket Riverwalk Commons is one such area. This unique space provides its visitors everything, whatever your mood is, you go to the spot and everything will fall into place.

Tom Taylor Trail

No matter what season you visit the city of Newmarket, you definitely need to check out the Tom Taylor Trail for the perfect dose of adventure. This trail is part of a much larger trial, the Nokiidaa Trail which runs through Aurora, Newmarket, and into East Gwillimbury. The part of it in the Newmarket is known as the Tom Taylor Trail and it is said to be the most well maintained and beautiful trail in the entire region.

The Newmarket region is entirely paved and runs along a really beautiful lake. This trail is perfect for all ages and the most amazing part of it is that the trail is not that hard. Anyone can try hiking in this area without any fear. If you are just a beginner then this is the perfect place for you to start. Live Events in Newmarket

The town of Newmarket has the most vibrant cultural and recreational activities. It hosts so many events all around the year, in every season. From Halloween to Christmas, from movie nights to special events for kids, this place has everything and more based on your interests. 

The most famous place where all these events are held in the Newmarket Riverwalk Commons, which we mentioned earlier. You can book the tickets in advance and you can also find the tickets on the spot. Some events are free of cost and there isn’t any requirement before entry. 

We highly recommend you to pay a visit to one of the live events during your stay in the Newmarket.

Things to do: although all of the events are absolutely magnificent and a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle, we recommend that you make sure to catch a glimpse of the Music in the park held at Riverwalk Commons and the Winter Wonderland. 

George Richardson Park

There is absolutely no shortage of beauty and wonder in this beautiful town of Newmarket. One such place to immerse yourself in the beauty of flora and fauna and take in some relaxing time in the wonderful park of George Richardson. This park is located on the banks of the river Holland, which makes it a perfect getaway from your blues. Apart from the unique wildlife species and plants, there is also a variety of trees and vegetation along the river trail. 

You can go for a hike and trail along the river for scenic views of the city. The special feature of the park is that there are huge areas devoted especially to sports like baseball and soccer. So if you’re there with your hang, make sure to have a game and enjoy it to your fullest.

Farmer’s Market

If you have read our other posts about Canadian towns, you probably must be aware that the region is very famous for its Farmer’s Market which is settled up once a week. It is a famous attraction in almost every town of Ontario. The most unique part about the market is that all its products are homegrown and organic. They offer a wide range of goods and products to shop from and this is an amazing place to try out some amazing local food and take some on your way back home. 

You can also take your friends and family out for lunch or breakfast during the hours and enjoy a special farm-fresh meal there. 

Apart from the great handmade products, you can also have a chat with the Master Gardeners while you are in the market to answer all your gardening questions. Also do not forget to check out the special events with the local groups.

Market Brewing Co.

For all the food and wine enthusiasts, we have come up with just the right place for you. Market Brewing Co. is a local brewery that is quite famous among its residents. Located right in the neighborhood of the main market, this craft brewery offers various samples and full pints. 

While you are making your visit to the brewery do not forget to catch the live music performances on Friday and Saturday nights.

It is a premier shopping center with almost everything that you can possibly imagine. Even if you’re not in the mood to buy any stuff, just strolling in the complex would be a nice thing.
